The FREE concerts in Village Park continue this summer. The concerts are sponsored by the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce and organized by Bonnie Wright.

On Thursday July 25th the Air Force Mobility Command Band of the Golden West jazz ensemble "The Commanders" will begin the concert at 7:00pm. Due to popular requests Bonnie has asked the band to extend the concert this year to two 45 minute session with a short intermission.

The concerts will continue on Thursday August 22nd and conclude on Thursday September 26th with the Bella Vista High School Band.

The Voice has been published intermittently the last 9 months. After a summer recess to develop fov.com (see article on this page), the Voice will begin publishing in September every six weeks. As finances allow, the cycle will shorten. See article on New Newspaper on page 2.

As publisher of the Fair Oaks Voice I have been talking about it being a "Community Newspaper for the 21st Century" since it was conceived in March of 1995. One of my goals for the Voice was to have our own Domain Name, a registered address on the internet. While I reserved fov.com for the Voice in April 1995, it has remained unused. Next month the Voice will finally appear on the internet at www.fov.com.

In the case of the Voice, the Domain Name represents a growth in capability to provide 21st century services within the next year. It is also the result of an agreement that makes it economically possible for me to support the Voice for the foreseeable future. It is the most visible symbol of the recovery I have made to working full time, except maybe the 20 lbs I have lost. This summer I will continue to build this capability.

Some of the new capabilities will include an automated Calendar, Crime Report and Business Directory. The business directory advertising and other services will allow the Voice to make money on the internet. This income will support the printed version of the paper. I hope that in a year or two it will be possible to publish the printed version every week.
